About the San Juan Ridge
The San Juan Ridge area is bounded by the Middle Fork Yuba River to the North and the South Fork Yuba River to the south. It includes the historic gold-rush town of North San Juan as well as areas such as French Corral, Cherokee, Ananda Village, Birchville, Sweetland and North Columbia. Nevada City is just a 15-20 minute drive to the south along Highway 49. Fishing, boating and water skiing is just a 15 minute drive to the north at Bullards Bar Reservoir and the clear waters of the mighty Yuba River offer cool respite from the Sierra’s summer heat in the many spectacular granite-lined swimming holes that can be discovered along either side of the San Juan Ridge.
